ACT 1
I had a long career as a television news producer, mostly at CBS News bureaus in New York City, Washington DC and London. I spent five years in St. Louis, MO local news. It's a fun town, the Gateway Arch is very cool and I'm now a life-long Cardinals baseball fan.
My travels have taken me all over the US, Europe, the Middle East, and some (but not enough) of Africa. I covered the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, an impeachment, Nelson Mandela's release from prison, the fall of the Berlin Wall, culture and economic stories.
A lot of fun was had along the way, including many trips to Paris, Tuscany and other lovely spots on the Continent. You'll have to wait for the book for details.
ACT II
My portfolio of skills now includes acting and voiceover work. With the help of the good folks at New York’s Acting Studio and the Chelsea Rep I’ve already made it to off-Broadway in a production of “To Whom Shall I Tell My Grief”, based on Anton Chekov’s “Misery”. You can also find my audio books on iTunes and Audible.com. “Women on Purpose Now” which I co-hosted and co-produced with actress and friend Madeline McCray is sampled on this site.
The cast of this one act play in The Acting Studio's 2017 e-Merging Artists 1 Act Play Festival. Michael Allen Aguirre's "To Whom Shall I Tell My Grief" is a modern day take on Anton Chekhov's "Misery", the story of a grief-stricken cab driver searching for someone to whom he can talk to about the loss of his son.
Madeline McCray and I met drinking wine at a New York Women in Film and Television event. We discovered a similar take on the issues of the day over (several) glasses of red wine, and we decided we needed to produce a talk show. So we did.
